With winter weather conditions upon us, we want to remind parents that late-start, or school closure, announcements will be made starting no later than 6:45 am. Weather conditions sometimes change rapidly during the early morning hours especially toward sunrise and we try to predict, based on what we are seeing and what the weather forecast tells us, which choice of an altered school schedule is most appropriate. On occasion, there may be a 1 hour delay that is changed to a 2-hour delay or a delay that is changed to a closure. Please keep in mind that the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District encompasses a large area and while weather may be decent at your house, it could be worse in other areas within our boundaries. Announcements are sent out to each family via our K12 Alert system and are posted on the District's website. Additionally, alerts are sent to local media such as KXLE 95.3 and KIMA TV in Yakima and we attempt to get our school notification on the Seattle TV stations - KOMO, KING and KIRO.
If NO announcement of an altered school schedule is sent out, then school will start at the regular start times.
